ROUTINE

Babies have their own large free-play rooms for various activities plus a separate sleep room with monitors, in order to retain the same routine as they would have at home. We also have a dedicated area for nappy changing that is within the baby play-room and when children are ready to begin toilet training we will work together with the parents to provide the best continuity between home and nursery for a smooth transition.

The soft carpeted free-play room for those that are crawling, is used to help babies learn their five senses, develop co-ordination and to explore. We help them to realise and develop their abilities. With a ratio of qualified staff, 1 adult for 3 children, we can ensure individual attention, nurturing and continuity to help your baby to feel settled and minimize disruption.

EQUIPMENT

We will provide each parent upon admission with a list of items that need to be supplied.
These include.

For example, babies would need on a daily basis:
Formula or breastmilk / sterilised bottles / nappies & wetwipes

Sunscreen, slippers and outdoor clothing such as sunhat and wellies, are to be kept at nursery to use when needed.

We aim to provide the best resources for children to play with and encourage sharing, as such we ask that children do not to bring any of their own toys or games into nursery so as to prevent any possible loss or damage. Items that may provide comfort or security would will be reviewed on an individual basis.

NO SHOE POLICY

Throughout the upstairs of the nursery we operate a No Shoe Policy, as children spend most of their time on the floor we feel it is important that the carpets are kept as clean and hygienic as possible. Parents are requested to provide slippers for their child to change into. Our staff also wear slippers or soft shoes. Shoe covers are also available.

ROUTINE

Once a child has found their feet they're ready to go exploring! We focus on individual needs of our toddlers and encourage learning about themselves, their environment and their first steps in the world. By providing a full range of resources to support learning, creativity expands in our messy room with paint, water and sand and in our free-play room includes solving construction problems with building blocks; starting to read with books from our library, dance, sing and play with musical instruments.

When children are ready to begin toilet training we will work together with the parents to provide the best continuity between home and nursery for a smooth transition.

With a ratio of qualified staff, 1 adult for 4 children, we can allow space for independent play whilst individual attention is on hand from a familiar adult.

ROUTINE

With a ratio of qualified staff, 1 adult for 8 children, we can allow space for independent play and to develop their own interests or group activities with other children, whilst individual attention is on hand from a familiar adult.

Our pre-school rooms are filled with fun equipment and toys designed to stimulate and support the Seven Areas of Learning from the EYFS .

Activities take place across our free-play rooms where they can spend time reading, writing and drawing or using a computer. Outside in our play area for group activities, or in the messy room for creative play.

Adult-led activities are organised to promote emotional, moral and social development, as well as encouraging the children’s individual sense of self, generating their own ideas and helping to embrace differences in gender, ethnicity, language and culture.
